Dolores “Elaine” Smith, of Noble, Oklahoma, passed from this life on September 18, 2021, at the age of 78. She was born on August 26, 1943, in Purcell, Oklahoma. Elaine was an active member of Noble Assembly of God. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She also enjoyed painting ceramics and going to garage sales. Elaine enjoyed visiting nursing homes and playing the piano for the residents and ministering to them. She and George loved to travel all over the world. They had visited 58 countries, including Russia, China, India, Thailand, and Israel. The highlight of her life was to walk where Jesus walked. She and George took a cruise 1,000 miles up the Amazon. They lived in Northern Africa for 1 ½ years. In addition, they had driven all through Europe. Elaine was super adventurous and crossed the Sierra Desert along with 2 other women and 6 children. She loved the Lord and was an extremely strong Christian. Her son, Adam said his mother was contagiously joyful. She was a very loving, sweet, kind person with such a gentle heart. Elaine was a real people person. She attended Norman High School and graduated from Noble High School, Class of 1961. Elaine was a wonderful homemaker and absolutely the best and most loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her first love was her Lord and Savior and being with her husband, George, the love of her life and sweetheart for 58 years. She loved being with her family, especially with her children and grandchildren.
Elaine is survived by her husband of 57 years, George Smith; 1 daughter, Kimberly Romero & husband, Edward, of Norman, Oklahoma; 2 sons, Sean Smith, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Adam Smith & wife, Shaunna, of Jerseyville, Illinois; 6 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Danny Brown, of Liberal, Kansas, Roger Brown, of Noble, Oklahoma, and Gary Brown & wife, Kathy, of Noble, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her father, Andrew; her mother, Eva; 2 brothers, David Brown, and Coy Brown.
Visitation for Elaine will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 21st, at the Noble Assembly of God, located at 100 Post Oak Rd., in Noble, Oklahoma, and from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM, Wednesday, September 22nd, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Noble Assembly of God. Interment to follow at Fairview Maguire Cemetery, in Noble, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel.
